Key Mapper & Floating Buttons 3.1.1

Key Mapper enables users to create custom macros on their keyboard or gamepad, develop on-screen buttons within any application, and unlock new functionalities for volume buttons. Its versatility allows for extensive customization tailored to individual preferences and workflows.

The application supports a wide array of buttons and keys, including:

• All phone buttons such as volume controls and side keys
• Game controllers, including D-pad, ABXY buttons, and most other inputs
• Standard keyboards
• Headsets and headphones
• Fingerprint sensors

For devices with limited keys, users can design personalized on-screen button layouts and remap these functions similarly to physical keys, expanding the potential for tailored control schemes.

Regarding functionality, Key Mapper offers an extensive set of options. Users can leverage over 100 actions to build complex macros incorporating screen taps, gestures, keyboard inputs, application launches, media controls, and direct intent transmissions to other applications.

The level of control is highly customizable. Users can define triggers such as long presses, double presses, or multiple presses across various devices, including on-screen buttons. Macros are configurable with specific actions and adjustable delays, with options for repeating actions to automate repetitive tasks efficiently. Constraints can be set to specify when key maps are active—for example, only in certain applications, during media playback, or on the lockscreen—providing refined control over macro activation.

While most devices are supported with ongoing updates to expand compatibility, some limitations exist. Currently unsupported features include mouse buttons and specific gamepad controls such as triggers (LT, RT) and joysticks.

The app incorporates a security and accessibility component through its Key Mapper Accessibility service. This service utilizes the Android Accessibility API to detect the active application and adapt key mappings accordingly. It also facilitates the display of assistive floating buttons atop other applications. By enabling this service, the app can monitor key strokes and simulate gestures like swipes and pinches during use. Importantly, it does not collect user data nor transmits any information via the internet. Users retain full control over the accessibility service and may disable it at any time through system settings.
